Home and birthdays.
My little girl turned two. My how time flies. You may have been following my renovations of the doll house that i was giving her for the big day. I'm not a huge fan over over indulging children...especially when they are only two, so i thought that doing up a dolls house would be a great idea as my main present.
Sitting back after the project i realised i had spent huge amount of time and money on fitting it out. I was pleased with the results but not really sure if it can compare with the simplicity of shopping and wrapping gifts in under a day. I spent many nights on the painting and decorating. Hours on Ebay looking for vintage furniture and a lot more money than i would have liked to. I really didn't understand the competition for vintage (and often damaged) miniatures....oh well lesson learned. But i was pleased with the result and Baby G was thrilled when i bought it out on the morning of her birthday. She hasn't even done too much damage to it yet...Hooray! Then there is the cake......oh my. ........sooooo time consuming! So i cooked the cake..let it cool and then decorated it...taking up much of the day fluffing around with it. This was my first attempt at decorating a birthday cake.... I think it went quite well....Baby G loved the mini marsh mallows around the edges and i am pretty sure she didn't eat the cake. For some reason she is also a master of blowing out candles, as far i know she has never done it before. I was also pleased with the lack of spit going on to the cake especially as those around must endure the eating of the cake after. All in all not a bad second birthday....thank goodness its a full year before the next one.
