Sleepy time for the patch.

My first artichoke plant on the grow. Can't wait to eat my first artichoke from my own plant.

Dear Summer,
I hate you. You sucked this year. I was never in shortage of water (small bonus) and only had to water my veggies once. Your last late frost killed half my tomato plants and then even the replaced tomatoes and surviving ones did not have time to ripen by the time you decided to abandon us. You really did not allow my plants to develop as they should, most seemed to rot before they were acceptable to eat. Damn you.

Yes, yes,  i know there are winter veggies but without your sunshine blessing and warmth i really don't feel like getting out in the garden or waiting the millennium they seem to take to grow. Fine then. I  might consider putting some in.

All i ask is that you come back later in the year and perhaps put on a bit of a show for us. Like I'm talking about one that one special summer makes you sing your praises for years to come. Ok? I mean you kind of do owe us....
Regards
Michelle
I have put my garden to bed for winter with pea straw Ripping out all the lame and sad veggies. The herb spiral is amazing (thanks Bill) and is now a roaring success. See you next summer veggies...lets be friends.

I'm with you Michelle - that late frost stuffed my vege patch mojo.

Watch the prickles on your globes - they are well nasty !

I'm only putting in spinach for winter, can't enthus myself to protect broccoli from marurading cabbage whites.
