Blanket Wrap

Just a little quick share of a project I completed the other week. This is a blanket wrap that I created in under an hour. It was one of the easiest projects I have worked out then completed. It did help that I already had the brooch made up to add to the garment to give it that "little bit special". This lovely wrap has already gone to a new home within hours of putting it up on social media.

To make a blanket wrap it was as simple as putting in a split in the center - that continued on just a bit more than half way and hemming the new cut. When I made the brooch I used a small piece of table cloth - some crochet flowers and button, then sewed onto a brooch backing.

The hardest part is sourcing a lovely blanket that you can transform into a blanket wrap. I have talked about it before but if you have a St Vinnies depo in your area make sure you inquire as to their availability into big bags of dogs blankets. I have found the most incredible find in them - and the dog gets the rest as his new bed.

Did I show you this find in the same bag?

Original freaking Bambi blanket - immaculate condition except for some bobbling. What am I going to do with this???? Its like a relic from the past and careful planing on its future must be considered.

So till next time - Mxo

the dog blanket tub is a favourite treasure spot of mine while op-shopping.
I always seem to find woollen blankets in there for a couple of dollars and just recently found my first chenille bedspread in a lovely sunshine yellow shade.
wow the bambi find is a real treasure x

I love this idea and never thought to do that with a blanket. It turned out beautiful!
