Inside Outside Exhibition

Recently I went to an exhibition opening at out local art center in Wynyard, ArtsCape. The exhibition featured many local artists with a variety of mediums.

The opening was buzzing and the walls burst with people who came out to support their local artists. It was fantastic to see the beautiful works on the wall and the people so eager to support local art.

A big thankyou to the artists and the hard work that was put into the opening, and to the hard working ArtsCape committee in organising the event.
You can view this exhibition till the 12th of December  on Tuesdays - Saturdays from 10am till 2pm.
The committee has many challenges facing it right now with the cuts in arts funding for Tasmania, and all over Australia. With support such as this you can see the need for such an organisation in a local community. With all the adversary facing arts networks I can still see a glowing future for our art center. If we can't find a government who supports the arts we can still do a great deal to creating the arts that we want to see in our region. Art revolutions are created in places like these, where the people are proactive in their creating destinies.

You can join the ArtsCape facebook page here or look at the website here.

Great coverage Michelle and you are so right that our community can do so much to help ourselves and prove to others the value that art, in all its forms, is worth encouraging and developing. Janet

The art work looks wonderful! And I can see some colleagues from both schools I've worked at on the coast! :)
