Kids Arts Courses
For a bit of fun over the holidays I am running two small art classes at my favorite cafe Bruce's. Classes are limited to 10 students and should be so much fun.
Place: Bruce's Cafe
Date: Wednesday 21 of January
Time: 2pm till 3.30pm
This is a school holiday session the class is art based and is suited to ages 8-15. All materials included.
Students will complete a portrait of themselves in the style of an abstract painting. Every student will be able to achieve a finished abstract portrait by the end of the session regardless of skill level. This an extremely fun way to create a work of art with absolutely no pressure on the participant to be 'good at drawing'.
The session is based on exploring art in a non traditional way which opens up the mind to new ways of thinking and exploring creativity. Students will gain perspective on an abstract way of creating and class will also include basic colour theory without the boring bits.
Place: Bruce's Cafe
Date: Friday 23 of January
Time: 2pm till 3.30pm
This is a school holiday session. The class is art based and is suited to ages 8-15. All materials included.
Students will complete a 3D art object using the traditional method of weaving and adding the contemporary idea of incorporating a found object.
The found object will be from the Tasmanian bush and a spiders web of weaving shall be applied to it. Students may bring in textiles of their choice to use in the project but materials such as string, wool, fabric, natural fibers and twine shall be supplied.
