Lino - More Lino - then some more lino....

I am still in love with lino cutting - and still in love with the new silk lino's - they are amazing.

This week I finished three new cuts - "Steam Punk" - "Dragonfly" and "Teacup Stack". I printed them up at Stitch n Bitch this week..see we are not always about the sewing.

I put them in my madeit store two days ago and have already sold some! Yay! and Thankyou. I am putting them in the mail today. I also have had a job from announcing my graphic design services yesterday so things are looking up.

I tried a wash test on the fabric versions of the lino cuts with terrible results. It literally just flaked off without even staining the fabric. Unbelievable! I am going to try to add some fabric medium to my inks but I have a feeeling its going to make it all a bit runny. I do love that sticking sound as you roll out your ink on glass - nooooice!

Hope your week got creative...if not there is still time left.

These are fantastic! You're so good with a blade Mrs :) I use screen printing ink when I block print onto fabric. You can either use a roller or a sponge to dab on the paint. I have actually started putting together a tutorial on this... do you want me to give you a shout when I finish and post? You probably already know anyway... but let me know if interested. Kx

Awesome prints Michelle........I love patterned, china cups and saucers and the steam punk and dragonfly are great too........

You certainly are having alot of fun using the new silk lino. Hope you can sort out the ink issue and I'm with you on the 'sound' of ink being rolled onto the glass, hehe....

I haven't gotten up the nerve to cut lino yet but have some sitting in the studio for when I'm ready! Yours are fabulous, especially printed on the sheet music. I've printed on fabric using Speedball textile screen printing ink--you heat set it. This is also what we (my kids and I) use for stenciling on shirts. I've used plain old liquid acrylics on fabric too. It's a different consistency from ink, but the stuff doesn't wash out, ever.
