Let it Snow and let it Grow

It seems winter finally found us in Tasmania - we can't really complain its been quite mild.
I am a summer girl through and through. Summer is when you get to go camping - spend the day (and lovely nights) on the beach, fires and Jack Daniel, friends and BBQ's, grow beautiful vegetables and wear pretty skirts.
However they grow us tough in Tasmania and we are used to rugged weather - we are flexible like that. So on went the beanies and coats and off we went to Cradle Mountain to find snow and make a snow man. It felt funny getting the 4WD out and not putting the van on the back.
We made the greatest snow man and seconds after we had finished the little girl chucked it and it was home time. But all in all I think it was a good first experience to the snow for her....I know I had fun!

Since we (ME!) are talking about personal stuff I would like to show you some new members of our family.  Yesterday we got three new steer calves. They are a lot quieter than our last lot and one is sooo fluffy he is adorable. I love their earrings they came with as well hee hee.
Tragically we lost one of our older steers a month or so ago to salmonella poisoning coming from the cold winter ground. So now in our paddocks we have two bigger steers - Mr Goaty - three new babies and one more to come down if he is well enough in the next few days....
I almost feel like a proper farmer now - and when I saw proper I still mean small scale proper - and I have pretty gum boots....just saying.

Cute little calves.
And love your snow photos. I got to experience my first lot of snow just the other week. It is magical.
