Woodland Creatures

I've had this huge desire to paint again. I don't know why but this hasn't happened for many years....sewing has been my mistress of late and painting hasn't even got a look in. I guess with sewing I had so much to learn, new things to collect and techniques to master. I had lost all inspiration for painting. I had no muse.

I went to the shed and hauled out and prepped some canvas - I could feel the need rising in me and knew it wouldn't be long before I wanted to get dirty with paint again. Luckily because at at 11.39pm that night I remembered how to paint. I found my muse in a vintage children's book and by 1am I had the under painting and some detail completed.

The next day I went and bought new painting supplies - it seems I had been neglecting my art hoard and that night I had finished my Woodland Rabbit. Under painting has already begun on my next piece. I'm feeling good.

Obviously my going to bed early resolve has gone by the wayside in the thrill of the paint. Why is it that I always get more creative the later it is? Does this happen to you?

Oh what a great painting,I'm not surprised by your sudden need to create someting different or the time of night to start, sometimes it just happens that way! I tend to think things over for a little while and then I just have to start straight away be it in the garden ,kitchen or sewing machine.
