Miss G gets a new room.

Look at these curtains. Tragic i know. This room was your typical spare room. Featuring one double bed with piles of junk loitering near by and on it. My little girl had been stuck in a junky "baby" room of her own for far too long so the decision was made to make her an entirely new room.

It had a  lovely yellow walls, pine built in, with horrid red curtains. I painted it over with with white and the ultimate sin for a little girls room...a grey wall. I couldn't stand the idea of too much pink and the grey has actually been said to be "latte" or "purple" with the new colours in and around the room.

I made the curtains from a while and pink chenille bed spread, a wool blanket and an old doona cover. I was intending on raiding my vintage stash for fabric supplies but found I was literally having heart palpitations of the thought of using four metres of hard earned fabric. In the corner of the picture below you can see the dolls bassinet that was my Mums, then mine and now Miss G's. Original family vintage.
I love the wall lights in the shape of flowers ...from ikea.
Here is a  closer look at the grey wall....and below the evil wall stickers that fell off with in two hours of putting them on. "Removable" is one thing but this was ridiculous.  Any hoo she adores it and i managed to throw out three bags full to Vinnie's. Helps me feel better and is in keeping with my "dead wood" theme for this year. I have a couple of finishing touches to add in the room yet but all in good time, this has taken me two weeks to get it to this stage!!!

Make sure you pop over to do you crafty stalking and "Our Creative Space".

Gorgeous! Does she like it? I especially love the bird decals and the flower lights.

Looks fabulous! Love the grey - in fact, a couple of weeks ago, I decided on grey for the feature wall in my living room - great minds my friend, great minds!

P.S. Hearting those curtains like crazy and the Ikea lamps are ace!

I quite like the gray, personally. It can be so pretty with other colors to compliment it.
